Things that made me smile... :)

First things first!  The other day I found a fabulous Mother's Day giveaway over at lessonsfromthelaundry.com.  The gift basket looks like fun!  Make sure to go over and enter.  The draw will be random I believe.

The other day I was super excited to get my free Wubbanub in the mail!!  I signed up for a baby registry over at babydagny.com, and as a special gift they sent me their exclusive purple frog Wubbanub!  It is super cute, and I can't wait til our baby is born and can use it!!  THANKS BABY DAGNY!!  You guys really are awesome.  I think I already know what I'll use my $10 gift certificate on....

This week just got even better yesterday!!  Heather and I went to a ton of garage sales yesterday, and I finally found a bed for Rowan!!  I had finally decided to just go buy him a new mattress and put it on the floor, but then we drove past one house and I spotted a bright red toddler bed!!  I told Heather that if it was less than $30, I was going to buy it.  So, I quickly ran in to check, and saw that it was only $25!!!  It's a very solid red metal toddler bed, with a perfectly good mattress included!!  I was so pumped for the rest of the day!!  Once I go pick it up, I'll post some picture of it.  Now I need to find a cool theme for his bedroom.  Any ideas?  We're painting and putting in new flooring, so almost anything is an option right now.

And, the last thing that made my day yesterday was one little word from Rowan... 'potty'!  Yup, he came and told me that he wanted to go on the potty, and he actually peed!!!!!!  I hope he was as excited as I was!!  I was cheering and hugging him like crazy!  Now, we'll see if he does it again...  I really don't want to push him and ruin this good thing.

I wonder what today will bring... Have a wonderful day everyone!

Great deal..How awesome that is came with a matress too!!

Ask Rowan what he thinks aboout the room.

I have learned to not get to into a character becasue they change their minds too much. My daughter decided she didn't like her room only after a few month...OH WELL..LOL!

Maybe like a firefighter theme of some sort??? I don't know..thats what I thought of when I thought red bed! You could do something like that....I'm so glad you found a good deal on a bed, and I wish I would have known about the registry before, because I really want to get a wubbanub!!! Thats super cool!

ooh, I like the fireman idea! If you have someone who could paint characters, you could do a Veggietales theme and paint characters on the walls. Bob is red and so is part of Junior's hat I think. I know that at Home Depot in the paint chip aisle, Disney has all kinds of ideas for kids rooms. Martha Stewart has great ideas for everything, that might be somewhere to look too! Anyway, I'm so glad you found a bed and for such a great price! There's a load off your mind, eh?

Hey Stacey,
Thanks for posting a link to my contest. It was really just a way to honor some moms. I'm so glad I stopped by your blog. I've been feeling bad in anticipation of Mother's Day...you may have gathered that my DH isn't the best at gifts. I know this and I need to accept it. He is a wonderful husband. But I just dropped my daughter off at a friend's house and her mom is out of town. Her DH has a surprise waiting in the driveway for her return on Sunday. A VERY nice surprise. So I was feeling all bummed out about in anticipation of my lack of Mother's Day gifts and then I read your post with the scripture from James. That was just what I needed to get over myself. I will keep a humble heart the rest of the weekend...thanks to you!
Blessing.
Kathy

If you guys have a favorite sports team with red as one of the colours, that would be a great idea because it would work for when he is older too.

Red bed... w hat could go with a red bed... well whats he like? If he liked fire trucks Id say go w/ a red/black/yellow firetruck theme... if he likes motorcylces you could do red w/ some chrome and blues? Helicopters?

I wish I could make a customized room for Caleb! UGH!
OH DINOSAURS would be cool. You can match dinos with any color

That's awesome that Rowan was telling u he needed to go potty!! That's such a good step forward :) and I also love garage sales!! I got TJ a Jr bed last summer at a garage sale - it was Whinnie the Pooh and also came with the mattress. Next comes the 'sleeping in the bed' training :) I love it when you find a fantastic deal, it makes your whole day :)
