OH MY!

I just got back from my ND appointment, going over the results of my allergy test. AHHH!!!! I had no idea. I figured I was allergic to dairy, and that was it. Ummm... NO! Here's the list of what I will now be eliminating from my diet:

Dairy (this was an extreme reaction, off the charts) - this includes goat's milk too
Eggs
Gliadin
Gluten
Rye
Wheat (I think I'm going to cry over this one :( )
Pineapple (WHAT!!!!)
Flaxseed
Spelt
Triticale
Paprika

Honorable mentions: (these are listed under insignificant, so no worries)
Beef
Malt
Almond
Sesame
Tomato
Red Pepper
Alfalfa
Psyllium Seed
Brown Rice

So now my question... WHAT WILL I EAT??!!!!

Oh my goodness. I know how hard elimination diets and allergies are. I hope it is ok! What great things you'll have to blog about now!

I feel for you, my mom is allergic to almost all the same things and gluten and wheat(celiacs disease)was the hardest. youll be amazed what foods actually have wheat in it and not to scare you...but its alot! you have out love and prayers.-Chelsea

Even spelt? Wow, that's quite the list! Back to basics I guess, just meat, potatoes (or rice), veggies and fruit. The meal I would find hard is breakfast! I'm so sorry Stacey, that's really hard to deal with.

Wow...I know how hard it is to just have to eliminate one food from your diet...never mind all those! I wish I could come over and help you find soome recipes & meals to eat...

Wow! I really need to do this!!!

I'm pretty certain I have a wheat allergy and dairy allergy.

Even though it is hard to figure out what you can eat, it is so good to know what is harming your body. (I'd be in trouble if Chocolate were on my list of allergies...I LOVE me some chocolate!)

I've learned that 70% of americans have some type of wheat allergy...mild to severe.

Thank you for sharing your results. I'm wondering...what kinds of symptoms have you been struggling with?

That's too bad, and all the good things like wheat, rye, flaxseed, and pineapple! I guess you'll have to become a meat and potatoes girl. At least you can still eat most fruits and veggies, I think I'd die if I couldn't eat my veggies! All the best with the new diet plan.

You didn't list Kamut...do you know if that is still an ooption for you? Corny and Dora make Kamut bread...though I am not sure if they add other flours...you could check with them, I am sure they are very familiar with people's special diets and could custom make you a recipe.

Do you know the severity of all of the allergies - like are all the top ones the do not touch at all not even once in a blue moon type? that would be really hard!! I was worried when I thought I might have prenatal diabetes! This will be a big change for you and your family - you will be in my thoughts and prayers as this will be a big transition for you!

gluten free bread from a specialty store....ummmmm vegetables...and ummmmm....ummmm..y'a. sorry.

Wow! That is a lot to be eliminated from. Sorry girlie. But really spelt? I thought up till now that is the healthier choice. But so is pineapple. Strange isn't it? You'll have to make a list what you CAN eat. We might all be surprised [ you probably included] how long the list will become!

Oh my..I can relate all too well to what you are going through...although not quite to this extreme..I'm frustrated over only a few BUT the fact is so many other things can contain the ones I'm allergic to also...Thinking of you :(

you poor thing! I try to eat mostly gluten free but it is very difficult!
