groove.sleep.enjoy.... with a little giveaway at the end!

I'm set to give birth in less than 5 months. To me, that means the start of all the little baby things I love, including baby wearing. Along with that comes lots of snuggles and rocking, and a special closeness.

Another thing that comes with giving birth is a need/desire to get my body back. I don't mind sharing it for 9 months of pregnancy, and then however long I get to nurse this baby, but I love that feeling of breathing free and easy, and not carrying around an extra 30 pounds.

I had figured I would ease slowly back into my workout DVD (the one that's been sitting on the shelf for the past 5 months or so...) and hopefully have the time to do it during naps. But you know, I'm guessing that as a mother of three little ones, that won't be so easy!

Yesterday my long awaited package arrived in the mail from chicks-n-chickens. It's a DVD/CD set made especially for new moms, called Lullaby Exercises. This is the most fantastic idea I've seen in a while! Why not get some loving movement in while wearing your baby!

The DVD contains a gentle workout designed especially for use with baby wearing. It's so cool to see all the moms of different shapes and sizes, all grooving out in their own way with their babies content next to their chests. Darcy Novo leads you in a great workout, while wearing her own son, and it is easy to modify for those first few weeks post partum, and intensify as you get stronger and have more energy.

The music on this DVD is great too. The first 5 songs on the DVD are more upbeat, encouraging a little more movement, and then they slow down for the last 3 songs, to help your baby relax into blissful slumber. I love it that the last song is called Patience. Something we all need at times as parents, especially when getting those little ones to fall asleep!

The set also includes a CD of all the great songs that are on the DVD, so you can groove with your little one wherever you choose.

I definitely enjoyed watching this DVD, and I can't wait to try it out with our new little one in a few months. For now though, chicks-n-chickens would love to give away a copy of Lullaby Exercises to one of my readers! Here's your chance to add some loving movement to your day.

To enter, just leave me a comment telling me what your favorite baby carrier is, or which one you would like to try if you don't have one yet. I will pick a winner (randomly, of course!) on Monday, October 5th! Good luck everyone!

~~I hope you all enjoyed International Baby Wearing Week!! ~~

my favorite carrier is my chunei because i am a klutz and it is the most fool proof...especially for back carries. my boy likes my ring sling the best though.

that IS a really great idea.

I have only tried a simple pocket sling, but would love to try a mei tei. Maybe one day I'll be brave and try to make one. :)

I have one, so don't enter me, but of course I love to share my favorite carrier! Probably my silk Sakura ring sling and mei tai!

My favorite carrier is a woven wrap. I love the versatility and the simplicity of a simple piece of cloth. Plus, I love that it impresses people ;)

Hi Stacey! So we are due in about 2 1/2 months, and I never used a baby carrier with our first 2. But I just bought a Cuddly Wrap and I'm really excited to try out this baby wearing thing!! I just know that I will need my hands free as much as possible with two preschoolers and a newborn. This CD/DVD thing sounds great as well. I am determined not to take as long to regain my shape after this one as I did after my second. Come to think of it, I never really did :P

What a fantastic idea! I'd love to see more of what's on the disks.

I have different favorites for different ages and stages of baby. I love wraps and ring slings for the newborn stage, a ring sling or pouch on the hip for the next stage and then a mei tai on the back for the crawling/toddling stage. I love them all!

Despite the box of carriers I have though, I would love to have an ergo if I have another baby. A girl can dream, can't she? :)

I love my wrap with my little guy! He loves it too! He's a snuggler so anything that keeps him nice and close is perfect for both of us!!

I loved my wrap with my daughter, she did too, she would sing everywhere we went. With this next baby I want to try a few new homemade styles, maybe a pouch and a Mei tei.

I love my pouch sling. It's so easy to use. I would love to try a maya wrap. They look so cozy and warm.

I would also like to get my body back into shape now that I am done nursing this one.

Hi, I am in Saskatchewan here and neat to find a mama right next to me. We are close to the border. Love love the idea of the video, wow. I am a mam of 8 little ones and soon to be nine and homeschooling so babywearing is essential. For different times I like different carriers. Newborn - the wrap and for older Beco. I would love love to try a MT from one of the mamas at DS for newborn.

My favourite carrier is my stretchy wrap but my son's favourite carrier, by far, is our Beco Butterfly II. I would love to try a woven wrap soon to see if it's a nice compromise!
Winning the DVD would be a great birthday present for me- 4 months post-partum and desperately needing to get active again!

I've tried a lot of different carriers but my little boy loves a ring sling i made from an old sheet. It's nice and soft and perfect for snuggling. When he gets bigger, we'll use our ergo.

I have different favorites for different things. I loved my cuddly wrap for my babe as a newborn, my pouch for shopping and just needing to get things done but now that she is older I LOVE my Beco Butterfly! I use it a lot even my 40lb 5yr old rode in it at the zoo (i'm sure you saw my picture on Facebook).
